Living in New York City with a baby is difficult when I go shopping. Maneuvering a baby carriage and shopping basket through narrow aisles is always a challenge. This is followed by the challenge of tying the shopping bags to my son's carriage and taking everything home without tipping over. When I first saw this add-on advertised my eyes lit up! Pros - Easily snapped on to carriage without any tools. - Opens easily and folds up very quickly and easily. - Holds about one bag on each side. - Feels solid and can hold three 2-liter bottles of soda. - Center of mass is below baby which increases stability and prevents tipping. This is great because I still use the handles for even more bags. - Builds muscle with toddler seat, fully loaded with bags and of course toddler. Cons - Carriage is a little wider, which can't be helped. I call it the street sweeper :-) - Could be a little bigger. I have the orbit baby stoller system with the carseat and bassinet and I am very pleased to finally be able to add these to the system. Yes, they are very expensive for what you get but they sure do come in handy. I shop mostly at farm stands and local stores and its great ot slip all my purchases into these as I go around the store. PROS Spacious and stores flat against base Stays on stroller even when folded MUCH NEEDED ORBIT STORAGE CONS Have to be buckled SUPER snug or else they get caught when you fold the stroller Yes, they are VERY expensive considering they should have been included in the first place Stroller + panniers makes for one VERY WIDE LOAD. Ha ha, people dive for cover when they see us coming, you take up quite a bit of room. I LOVE these!!!! I use them everywhere. At the grocery store mostly but at other stores as well. It is so easy when you are shopping to throw products in the side panniers. When I'm at restaurants I also find myself using them as an extra surface space while I'm getting the bottle ready or if I need a place to put my diaper bag close by. I also put my little 7 pound Yorkie in one of them when he gets tired or when we go in a store. He loves it and I can't go anywhere without people commenting on how hilarious it is to see my little dog in his own little basket. The only reason I give this 4 stars and not 5 is that these should come with the stroller. They are so necessary, why does Orbit make you buy them separately? Since they dont, however, I highly recommend buying these. I have not regretted it and use them all the time. |
