Review Summary: Highly disappointed
I had done a lot of research on the Quinny Zapp before purchasing one myself. Everything I had heard about this product was raving reviews. I even recommended it to a friend based on those reviews, who loves it herself. Then I purchased my own Zapp for a vacation we took w/ our 16month old and 32month old kids. When I first got it, they were fighting over who got to sit in the stroller (this was in the house). I thought I should buy another one so they could each sit!
But, then it came time to using this stroller. A major major disappointment. Yes, it does fold down really really small, but that is not so helpful, considering that there is NO WAY TO DO THIS ONE HANDED!!! There are multiple steps, which each require 2 hands to do, the bottom latch is very complicated to get to fold down; I found myself muttering curse words under my breath at the thing!! Yes, it comes w/ a cool carry bag, but you are sweating until you get it in and closed (watch the video above and even the demonstrater is pushing to get it in).
Next, the buckle is a real pain. The right and left clips are a puzzle and you have to put them together and then click into the crotch clasp. With a squirming toddler, this is nearly impossible. At many points on the trip, my husband had to hold down my daughter while I strapped her in!
The seat does not recline. At all. I thought this was no big deal since my daughter hardly ever naps in the stroller. But, at two points in our trip she did, and while napping, she was falling over cause it did not recline. I found myself pushing the stroller on the back two wheels so she would not topple herself over.
Yes, this is a lightweight stroller but not so light that it was a breeze to pick up and the flip side is that you CANNOT PUT ANYTHING ON THE HANDLE BARS!!! It topples backward. This was a major problem; my daughter fell backwards a few times. Especially when traveling, you have so much stuff w/ kids, limited hands and the stroller is not useful.
The basket is not very large at all. Cannot put your diaper bag inside. Just a small shopping bag w/ a few diapers, wipes, the kids' sweatshirts. That's it.
Two positives- 1. it pushes and turns easily. 2. The lock feature is innovative and easy to use. Step on the red one to lock, step on the gray one to unlock.
My overall opinion-
in this price point, go for the City Mini. It costs the same amount of money, has a full recline feature, does not topple over, easiest one hand fold in the world, relatively easy locking mechanism. just 3 pounds heavier, but you are getting a full featured stroller.
I am going to be selling my quinny on craigslist....

Review Summary: Quinny Zapp
Hi!!! The Quinny Zapp was an impulse buy since I loved the design, I needed a small lightweight stroller and LOVED the bright pink textiles!
After using it for almost 18 months, the Zapp is still going strong, the textiles are as good as new, the wheels arent squeaky, it still folds and opens as it is supposed to without a hitch, and the wheels still have a lot of life in them!
I love that the Quinny Zapp has gorgeous colours, is very attractive and different looking, is sturdy (aluminium frame), has nice padded long straps, is easy to remove and clean covers, is very compact when folded, (although it IS a two hand fold and it takes some getting used to),comes with a raincover and a storage bag for easy travelling (we have even taken it on board the cabin for some trips, it fits in most overhead compartments), is VERY easy to manouver and although it has small plastic wheels it is very easy to push (much easier than the mclaren triumph and the pegperego aria) and the ride is smoother than with most lightweight strollers I have tried.
I also really like the way the handles are placed, I dont find the mclaren triumph's handles comfortable, however, the zapp's are just perfect (but they could be a bit short for tall people and they aren't adjustable)!
Finally, my daughter is very comfortable in it, I LOVE how the seat sort of hugs her, like a hammock type because the back isnt stiff. However, this same feature makes the Zapp not suitable for newborns or young babies.
What I dont like about the Zapp is that it doesnt recline, and yes, I know it is stated, however the stroller could be almost perfect if it reclined!! The hood is very small and has lots of viewing windows, I love the viewing windows, but you can forget about sun protection!, and finally the fold, I love it when folded because its so small and can fit almost anywhere, however you do have to push several buttons and use both hands (someone who is not familiar with the stroller could spend hours figuring out what to do) and unless you place it inside its bag it could open when carrying it since it has nothing to secure it and has no carrying strap....
However, as a second/lightweight/keep in the car/ use in the airport/ etc..stroller, it works GREAT and doesnt take a lot of space up!!!
Also, we used it the first few months with the Maxi Cosi carseat, as it comes with the adaptors, and it was a dream to push :)You do have to remove the textile set to be able to use it with a carseat, and you cannot (or at least we never figured out how to attach it) use the underneath basket when using it with the carseat.
All in all, we are very happy with our purchase, and after 18months I think the value for your money can't be beat!

Review Summary: reviews-akh, these reviews!
I spend a lot of time,as probably many of you who are reading this, reviewing the products before buying. It gives a lot of satisfaction to do it. But, it drives me crazy too. So many opinions and somehow one believes all of them. At last I bought my quinny zapp. It is cool and nice looking.
It clearly says that it does not recline yet it seems to be the biggest complain about the stroller. Do people think that once they buy it theirs will recline miraculously?
My husband is computer research scientist and he always says how much people expect from the computers-thousands of brainiacs work on them for years and years but there are always dissatisfaction from the regular folks like can't they do this or that. It is actually very hard to make improvements.
I am sure for stroller makers it is not as easy just to change things here and there. There are whole factories with precise instruments that can do only specific things. It is mostly made in China which means any change is very tough and costs millions. Imagine if it would be made in Holland-would cost at least $1000 to buy (to cover the socialistic taxation and work compensations.)
Why do I write all these? Because our expectations are way too high. It is just a stroller that covers some very important needs but we constantly have to doubt whether we did the right choice by buying it.
Luckily it is not too expensive and things do break and can be sometimes uncomfortable. I mean I know it would be nice if it would have bigger storage, cupholder, reclined, fit into purse, found at the greatest deal 80% off, had a cooler, had a heater, plus kids inside would sleep nights and change their own diapers, husbands be prince charmings and absolutely no wrinkles, oh yeh and a big house with views of the ocean.
I don't think there are perfect strollers and thats why we all have a few for different occasions. It is ok for women to be pretty and kind of shallow then why not the stroller :).
I think it is a lovely stroller and I will enjoy it even if my child sometimes doesn't look too comfortable but then since when kids are comfortable all the time? Mine are ready to get out of anything in short time. And the way they fall asleep in their great fancy shmency bed I would say those are the most uncomfortable positions looking like doing yoga butt high in the air. I have two boys and I don't want them to be sises by always catering to all their comforts-it is not like we all get our behinds massaged in those tiny hard seats on subways or pretty much any other chair by seating long time. In any case, enjoy the quinny zapp.
