Started in California in 1994 BOB, originally named Beast of Burden, has since revolutionized the way gear is carried by bicycle, and improved the performance and customer's feature expectations for jogging strollers. BOB’s products have helped cyclists to expand the limits of where a touring cyclist can go, and encouraged families to walk where there is no pavement. BOB all started with the requirement for a versatile and lightweight rig for transporting 'stuff' on a bike: tools, camping gear, groceries, etc. BOB took an old cruiser bicycle and made a single wheeled trailer out of the frame. Then came the children.. and with them, an unforeseen inspiration to build the best looking, best performing, highest quality single jogging stroller in the world.
As dads, BOB’s designers struggled with the visual of the father pushing a traditional flowery print, polka dot stroller. The BOB Sport Utility stroller was born. Their aim was to design and build the "best-looking, best-performing, highest quality jogging stroller in the world". The designers children were vital participants in the stroller development process helping test the prototypes, thus ensuring all resultant strollers were of high-quality, resilient and durable. BOB’s strollers resulted from an aim to create a product which performs with a high level of quality and style previously unknown to stroller owners. If comfort, style, and a luxury ride are vital to you and your kids, the BOB Sport Utility Stroller is one of the best that there is.
After there was demand for a twin seater model, the Sport Utility Duallie double jogging stroller was introduced at the start of this millenium. A couple of years later, serious athletes and parents asked BOB for a stroller worthy of being associated with the Ironman triathlon event. The BOB Ironman stroller has stiffened shocks and lightweight, high-pressure tires for improved road running and a tough frame for extreme durability and strength.
In 2005, BOB further moved forward the children's strollers market by developing the swiveling front wheel. This trademark of the Revolution strollers ensured runners didn't have to tip their strollers to get around a sharp turn. In fact, this improvement also makes steering the stroller easy on sidewalks, narrow aisles or anywhere else in the crowded urban environment. The front wheel can also lock so the stroller can be used for off-road runs or walks.
